This ancient tree carries the whole history and mystery of Mother Nature. It moves stagnancy, nourishes, strengthens, and tones. Its sweetness is reminiscent of lemons and butterscotch, but it is, at the same time, resinous and earthy.

Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii,), a species indigenous to western North America, thrives. It grows easily, straight and tall and its roots anchor it to the earth as it reaches it branches up towards the heavens. As a species, Douglas fir is easily 20 million years old. But this ancient tree is a true gift to us all in the modern world. It provides us with what we need, and helps our bodies, minds and spirits find their unique balance.

Douglas Fir is thought by many herbalists that those plants who thrive in our modern high-tech, high-industry world are those that provide us with the most defenses for living in it. (Think dandelion, red clover, ginkgo, etc.) This is a tree that truly thrives and we take this as a sign of its suitability for our human bodies in the modern world.

How to Use

Mist face with 5-10 sprays of hydrosol & press onto skin. Facial tonic hydrosols can be used throughout the day to tone, hydrate & refresh.
As a gentle morning cleanser, simply saturate skin & pat dry with a clean cloth.
For optimal hydration & moisture, combine with one of our oil serums and/or moisturizers. Mist face with 5-10 sprays of hydrosol. In palms of hands, mix dime-sized amount of oil serum and/or a finger-full of moisturizer with 5-10 more sprays of hydrosol. Gently press mixture onto skin. Finishing with a misting of hydrosol.

Not for everyone, but definitely for me
I have read some less-than-complimentary reviews on this scent, and must say that I find it delightful. It reminds me of hikes in the Sierra Nevada and what a forest smells like after it rains. I spritz this on when I need a little wake up, before hot yoga, and before Pilates so that I'll smell like something other than my sweating effort! It's also a perfect way to prepare the argan intensive serum in the palm of my hand: makes coverage easy. Grateful soul, here.

Refreshing
This hydrosol is very refreshing. Smells like a forest after a light rain. For that reason, I gave it a 4th star. It’s not as hydrating as the Rose Geranium, but I bought it to see how it worked with alternating between different hydrosols. I definitely enjoy its vast difference from a floral blend to this more “masculine” scent. It feels great on the skin, and dries very quickly. I usually need something more moisturizing, but I like this product anyway.
